This session was pretty typical for a one year old but at the end I got to do something extra special. Mom had asked if I would get a few pictures of her nursing her little guy. She had fought hard to breastfeed and was so proud they made it to his first birthday (and rightfully so!). It was an honor to take those pictures for her. Nursing is one of the most amazing things that a mother can do for her baby.
This gorgeous family contacted me to take their family photos and include some extended family members. Multiple family photography can be a little crazy. Getting that many people to look AND smile in one direction isn’t always the easiest. Lucky for me this group did great. And those little girls! Five girls under the age of six…but boy, did they listen and smile when they were supposed to. After the pictures were all done the girls got to play on the swingset and for me, those are always the most fun pictures to take.
Little did Josh know when he married me that he’d been an assistant to a photographer. I’ve been so thankful for him and his willingness to help. I could not shoot a wedding without him. When he’s free he’ll often come with me to a session and that always adds a level of fun. It’s pretty great to have such a supportive and helpful guy in my corner!
The Winter was rough this year so my little one sessions always had to be in the studio. This was one of the first sessions of the year that we could easily be outside. We had a nice still semi-warm evening in April and so we headed out to the park. The light was perfect and check out this adorableness. I mean, that hat and those eyes…swoon. I could have done a song and dance after the session. Studio lighting is fun but I sure missed being outdoors all winter!
